Rest in peace and thanks for doing so much for the electric guitar and music and building without a shadow of a doubt one of the best guitars in history.

Wouldn't it be fitting to see all the great bands and artists who used the Les Paul play a tribute gig.  yes

RIP Les Paul…

What a true legend in music and a man who left a MASSIVE footprint on music and America. Inventing the electric guitar, the multitrack recorder, and being an incredible guitarist in his own right, this is a guy who changed our very culture.

That great "band in the sky" just got better. Besides being an inventor and innovator, he was a truly great guitarist. That often gets overlooked, but he could play with anyone. If you were ever fortunate enough to see him perform, then I am sure you'll agree. R.I.P. Mr. Paul, I am going to go pick up your namesake instrument right now and play for a while in tribute.  tombstone

Very sad news  Sad . May he rest in peace.

His contribution to music will be remembered forever. I guess that musicians like B.B. King, Eric Clapton, Carlos Santana, Jimmy Page and all who played or are playing with a Les Paul must be sadder than we are...

That would actually be a good idea.

And he was still playing with his trio in New York past 90 years of age. Sad I never got to see them.

Although I don't own a Les Paul, much of my favorite music was recorded and performed with them.
I'm watching Jeopardy. The category is worst Madonna songs. "This one from 1987 is terrible".

He was certainly a game changer.
I love his guitars. I was also impressed that he started multi-tracking recordings as well.
