This is my car: Mercedes C350 CGI (no, no Diesel, it is a normal Gasoline engine) 3.5l, 292HP and I love it  Only 4.5 month old now.

Taken with my cell phone that's why the picture quality isn't too good.

I'm almost 6'1" and it was fine for me. The car weighed practically nothing, and I had a lot of aftermarket modifications done to it. Coupled with dsc, it was like riding on rails.

They get dusty more than dirty - a 'California Car Duster' can be purchased at Pep Boys and used to wipe off the dust every few days! lol

Nope, unfortunately not, as they do look so much better with the XP. But when I bought it just over a year ago the sporthatch/3 door Astras were so scarce on the used market that I took one without as I'd already waited for months for a 3 door Astra to become available.. I guess I could get the XP retrofitted but they are hundreds of £s..

The replacement for the "missing" SX4:

2008 Chevy Malibu LS

Used, almost 10,000 miles, but only $13,000USD because it was a "distressed" private seller. 2.4 Liter 4 cylinder, 4 speed auto (wish it had the 5-speed auto), but Mali is getting 30 mpg on long highway cruises to PHX, and about 23 mpg in mixed LA driving. No problems except for a short in the power door lock actuator. I completely lucked out buying a used vehicle, given the seller's dire financial circumstances.

I recently rented a 2009 V70 in DUS and came away very impressed with it. Volvo is a nice sleeper car...not as flashy or expensive as a German premium car but very close driving experience. Plus the cargo area is HUGE!

Quoting StasisLAX (Reply 44):

So far bullet-proof...but then again it's only 11K miles old so I really wouldn't expect anything different. My 2001 VW was traded in at 60K miles and still felt new so I expect this one to still be rock solid as the years go by.

Quoting StasisLAX (Reply 44):

How does it ride? I have read decent reviews about it from several sources claiming it to be as good as a Camry or Sonata.

Oh it's a dream to drive. I replaced a Mustang with this GTI and the VW beats the Mustang hands down. Much better build quality, better interior, extremely supportive seats, excellent handling, faster (yet sips less fuel), plus it's a practical hatchback. Top Gear calls the new 2010 version the best car in the world and I can see why.

Honestly, the Malibu has a great highway ride - smooth, but not floaty. I would have preferred a V-6 LTZ version of the Malibu rather than the standard LS version, but I wasn't in the financial position to a pay a 25% increase in price for all the bells, whistles, and suspension pieces. I have to say that I am really impressed with the build quality in the car (having owned a Jetta, a Mazda, and a Golf/Rabbit in the past). It's just as nice as my step-sister's Camry sedan with (I think) nicer styling and better driving dynamics. I still would have REALLY preferred to have a new Pontiac G8 GT (nee Holden Commodore), but just couldn't justify the price tag under the "current economic conditions"
