Refering to the thread in the Civ Av forum about the female Munich LH cabin crew wearing Bavarian "Dirndl" dresses during the Oktoberfest period, there was a post about the significance of the location of the apron knot (on the right "I´m married, engaged, taken", on the left "I´m still available if you ask nicely").
Last week, while having a coffee in our airport terminal coffee shop, I saw a young Indian woman (maybe in her mid 20s), who almost made my eyes fall out, so gorgeous was she in her saree.
I really like Indian women wearing this kind of dress, it looks very feminine.
Now I wonder if there also exist little telltales, like with the Bavarian dress mentioned above (other German regional traditional dresses often have similar sign, e.g. the colour of a ribbon etc., to tell if the woman is still free or already married / in a permanent relationship) with the saree.
Also, do there exist regional differences in India how a saree is worn?
