My favorite part of the whole story is that this guy somehow ended up with the title of Lab Technician. It's way too official, almost important sounding for what this guy's job actually was. He cleaned the animal cages at the lab. His job was to wipe up rat, mouse, and monkey shit.
From some news stories, he has family that works at Yale or some other situation that gave him connections to the job. He apparently didn't go to college, only has a HS
Diploma. One has to wonder if had some serious psychlogical or mental health problems that may have limited his employment or educational opportunites and if so I bet if they will come out in any trial or under continued media looking under the rocks.
This story got a lot of national play due to the location, one that was a relatively secure facility, that was a eductional and work place, at a major and well known university, a young woman about to be married, a person of exceptional intellegance and a future to look foward to. There were also some possibilty of her getting cold feet over getting married and had been a 'runaway bride' as there were some of those in recent years.
So far, the man arrested and charged has kept quiet under advisement of his attorney, a Consitiutional right. I do hope the Proscutitor doesn't overplay the evidence for his/her own political gain or to encourage a confession or do a plea deal so doesn't have to try him but still get justice. Let us also hope they do have the real murderer.
