HPV And Another Death

Tue Sep 29, 2009 9:32 am

Front page news over here that a 14 year old girl had the HPV vaccine yesterday at school and was dead within hours. Other kids reported sickness and dizziness.

Now health officials, as others have before

are not linking the vaccine directly with the death. Maybe a medic can help me here, but this strikes me as the sort of get-out an insurance company uses not to pay up because of other unreported circumstances. So, perhaps the unfortunate girl was suffering some undiagnosed condition and there was a reaction to the injection...... but if she hadn't had the injection she'd still be alive. So the vaccination was an aggravating factor, surely?

In an earlier case a mother was threatened with having her daughter taken into care because she wouldn't keep quiet after her daughter suffered, and is still suffering, a year after her injection.

Last October another girl suffered a mystery illness that came on 30 minutes after she was given the jab and resulted in paralysis from the waist down. Ashleigh Cave, a pupil at Maricourt Catholic High School in Liverpool, was said to have suffered dizziness and headaches before collapsing several times over the following days. A week later she was admitted to Alder Hey hospital after losing all strength in her legs.

She is now 13 and has spent almost all of the past 12 months in hospital.

Her mother, Cheryl Cave, said: “I have been trying for a year to get the NHS to admit there is a serious problem with these injections, but they are just in denial. I look at Ashleigh every day and I feel guilty because I signed the consent form. Every mother should think long and hard before they put their daughter at risk.”

A MUM fears her daughter could be taken into care after she claimed she was left paralysed from an anti-cancer jab.

Social workers are deciding whether to issue care proceedings against Cheryl Cave, from Aintree.

They claim the 38-year-old created her daughter Ashleigh’s health problems through “emotional abuse”.

So who, really, is protecting whom from what? Are cold statistics more important? Many lives protected from cancers, perhaps, at the expense of a few unfortunates?

So first of all, this makes no sense at all. 30 minutes isn't enough time for anything to happen, since the absorption doesn't even start until a good hour after injection. I actually agree with the "emotional abuse" idea here. It sounds like a "functional illness," an illness that is not replicable on any tests. Remember, hospitals can't give out the medical details, like the hypothetical fact that the mother's behavior could be completely pathological, or the fact that the girl actually gets up and walks around in spite of being "paralyzed." (I've seen "paralyzed" patients with functional illnesses do just that). Without more knowledge into the case, you can't know what the reality is. But this case seems awfully odd.

I do know that I've administered literally thousands of doses of the U.S. version, GARDASIL, and the only side-effect I've ever seen was pain at the injection site.

I also know that cervical cancer is a far higher risk to take than illness from the vaccine.

Until this girl's cause of death has been identified, blaming the vaccine is premature.

Well, let's put it this way: seatbelts sometimes kill people. Does that mean we should stop wearing them?

All vaccines have potential side effects and the possibility for allergic and anaphylactic reactions. The HPV vaccine is not different. Did it cause this issue? Maybe, but it could also be from "emotional abuse", similar to the hysterical pregnancies that some women suffer from when they are stressed about the possibility of being pregnant.

I've given thousands of vaccines during the time I worked in a college health center. I never saw a single adverse reaction, beyond the usual pain at the injection site and a low-grade fever.

The post mortem results are in:

Quoting BBC News:
Dr Caron Grainger, joint director of public health for NHS Coventry and Coventry City Council, said the results of a preliminary post-mortem examination had "revealed a serious underlying medical condition which was likely to have caused death".

"We are awaiting further test results which will take some time," she said. "However indications are that it was most unlikely that the HPV vaccination was the cause of death."
