Self-pic Thread - October 2009

Tue Oct 06, 2009 12:45 am

How come no one has started a new self-pic thread?? Since I have nothing better to do right now, here's something to get it started:

Yes there was a self-pic thread started with a picture of a gorilla and a certain shirtless Anet member and possibly some unflattering comparisons between the two.

I'm meant to be seeing Dream Theater and Opeth as part of their UK Progressive Nation tour on Saturday but I can't find anybody to go with. If I don't go that's £70 wasted on tickets.

Man if I could I would SO fly over and go with you but I can't afford it. :P

Ask Plymspotter if he wants to go, he might be able to. He would have come over here to see Nightwish and Sonata Arctica last year if he had the money. xD

AirKas1 wins.. DA42.. had my IFR instruction on the twin.... started on the DA40 though, flying VFR. If you look closely on the right monitor to the left you can vaguely see that it is a twin, due to instruments, plus the sunshades reveal that it is a DA42.. don't think it is available for the DA40

A couple of recent photos

We took advantage of the recent unexpected Eid-al-Fitr holiday ( unexpected in the sense that it was scheduled to be on a Sunday but due to the fact that the moon was not visible on the Saturday night it got shifted at the last minute to Monday ) to take some photos at various places around the island . This was taken at the Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam memorial gardens at Pamplemousses ( try saying that after a few drinks ) .

Unfortunately we were not the only ones who took advantage of the unexpected day off ... we got home in the evening to find out that we had been burgled Sad

This lovely shot of the back of my head against impossibly blue water was taken on the way to the Ile Aux Aigrettes wildlife reserve .

This isn't my most flattering pose and the rain didn't help my hair that day. I'm the one in the green on the right. This was the day after I attended the Paris Air Show and I met these friends at CDG as they were arriving to begin their Honeymoon. So I shared their first honeymoon night with them in Paris! LOL

I'll probably find a better picture of me, and post it later.

Okay  Smile It's a really nice aircraft, although not very fast despite the sleek looks.

I once had a left hand engine fire warning on the G1000 in it luckily it was just a display error, and it disappeared after 2 seconds.

I really enjoyed flying it though! It handled very nicely and it was impossible to bring it into a fully developed stall. That just shows how well it was designed.

I graduated back in June and I really really miss flying it!!!
