Boeingfever777 Has Had A Stroke

Sat Oct 31, 2009 1:22 am

Hello A.net community,

Yesterday morning Matt (Boeingfever777) had 2 strokes in Austin, TX. Many of you know him, and his twin brother Drew (FXramper), so I thought I should pass this along. According to Drew, he is doing better but obviously, there is a long road to recovery ahead of him. I don't know a whole lot of details, but Drew has told me that he's checked a.net, so he can't be doing terrible (unless, of course, we think he's suffered brain damage by wanting to associate with a bunch of us losers!  Silly).

Please keep Matt, his new wife, Drew, and the rest of their family in your thoughts and prayers. Drew or I will update you on his status when we can.

Cheers,
Cameron

Drew let us chat regulars know yesterday. Sad day, needless to say.

I sent him an IM via his profile, hoping he gets well soon. I hope a lot of others will do as I have done.

Much appreciated that you'll keep us updated Cameron.  Smile

Hey matt, if you're out there reading this, I would send you a box of KK donuts to assist in your recovery, but I don't think the nurses would let you have them. In all seriousness though, I will keep you and your family in my prayers.

It's events like this that just underscore how quickly the course of one's life can be altered. I've had family members that have suffered strokes, so I have an idea what y'all must be going through right now.

My thoughts and prayers are with you and the family as well.  pray

I hope you will recover from this. I had my own heart failure and was picked up half dead on a street in Monte Carlo less than a month ago. I ended up at the hospital emergency ward and hospitalized for several days with a follow-up by a hospital cardiologist whom I will see again this coming Tuesday for further testing.

This is no fun but it must be taken most seriously.

At least you are not alone, you have your family near you. Also I hope you have good doctors. I hope you will recover, you must do what the doctors tell you and be careful with your diet, no excessive eating or drinking, cholesterol and everything else.

All of us here on the forum are thinking about you and most of all we are wishing you a full recovery.

I definitely hope there is no brain damage at any level.
I had the same fear for myself but they scanned me inside and out and my head is fine.

He must make sure that he is in the hands of the best doctors he can find (Texas has very good hospitals) and you all make sure that he will follow on what the doctors tell him to do.

Health is number one. We have only one life. No second chance will be given to us.

I hope he is getting better, slowly but surely. Our thoughts are with him.

That's the first thing to hope for. When my father had his pulmonary embolism, he also had a slight stroke himself (which wasn't even detected until he had a seizure a few months after he was released from the hospital). Combined with the fact that he was in cardiac arrest for a few minutes after arriving at the hospital, it is a miracle that he had only very few lasting effects of this episode.

That being said, I wish Matt a speedy recovery and that no brain damage is detected at all.

Just a quick note to wish Boeingfever777 a successful return to health. Nowadays, medical science can do a lot for stroke victims and it seems that it was caught quickly - and it really is a question of "the quicker the better"; the fact that he is checking A.net bodes very well. If you're reading this, all the best and wishing you a full recovery.

Again, may you continue to do better! Strokes are not fun. I'm at high risk of one myself no thanks to a disfunctional pancreas -- type 1 diabetes!!  banghead  It's 25 years exactly now that I've had this abomination!!

Anyway... 'nuff rambling about that!  silly
