Police Incident IN M4 Tunnel At LHR

Thu Nov 12, 2009 1:37 pm

Anyone have any idea what is going on at LHR? Just heard on the BBC Radio 2 Traffic Report the M4 is closed at the tunnel due to a police incident, and when it eventually reopens a contraflow will be in operation? Hope its nothing serious.

Nothing on Beeb. Though the London page has a story on BoJo International quite high up.

There is report of an incident in the tunnel on TfL traffic alert site. No details provided. They just say use other route. I guess they mean get onto the perimeter road, tear through the fence and leg it across the North runway and the maneuvering area to the CTA.

TfL now saying a contraflow is in place.

Found something on it on Beeb Travel site. Incident in the tunnel blocking it both ways (must have been some incident). Causing queuing on the M4 spur. Code Burgundy.

I see at least one person has decided to walk down the M4.

Can you say 'Beer Can' without sounding like a Jamaican saying 'Bacon'?

How did this happen? How does a person just fall from the top of a tunnel?!?!?

Errrm, suicide.. If its not practically possible then the person intentionally fell. The police also reported the incident as 'not suspicious' either so that is usually Police jargon for suicide since its not considered an accident.
