Ncaa Football, Weekend Of Nov 14th

Sun Nov 15, 2009 4:04 am

For the fifth straight season, the Ohio State Buckeyes will win at least a share of the Big 10 crown, winning a classic matchup against Iowa, 27-24 in overtime. Bucks look to be Rose-Bowl bound against whomever comes out of the bloodbath that is the Pac 10. One thing to watch for in the future in the Big 10 is Iowa Freshman QB James Vandenberg. The kid is a star in the making.

USC suffers their worst home loss, I believe of all time, and gave up the most points they've ever surrendered; TCU looks to be the real deal, in blowing out Utah; Florida wins in a struggle against South Carolina. Notre Dame is trying to pull off an improbable 4th quarter rally at Pitt.

How'd your team do/

We, WVU, played #5 ranked Cincinnati and it ended up 21-24. I didn't expect much going into that game, so I'm not terribly pissed BUT, Cinci fumbled the ball next to the goal line in the 2nd quarter and it was recovered by WVU. The play went under review and it was deemed a touchdown. There was no way it crossed the plane to be a touchdown. Even the commentators went crazy on that call. Also, Coach Stew made some amazingly confusing plays as always, like going for a touchdown on 4th and 8 when we could easily have gotten a FG and be tied and go to OT. We can't have him for the long run, he is not that good.

But in the end, we only lost by 3 pts and the team did a stunning job against a team who will probably win the Big East, though no way they're going to the BCS championship. And I was on National TV lol.

Hopefully we'll crush Pitt at home after Thanksgiving!

We (Purdue) lost to Michigan 40-37. It was a very heartbreaking loss, but then again welcome to Purdue. It was a very good game, but just disappointing at the end.

USC lost to Stanford at home, which was not good. I couldn't watch the whole game because I didn't want to watch another loss.
Boilerup! Go Purdue!

K-State lost at home against Mizzou this week, 38-12.

However, this weekend we have an all or nothing game against Nebraska. Win, and we go to a bowl and the Big XII Championship game. Lose, and theres no bowl game.

At least we beat KU  Wink

No

As a Kansas fan, we've got bigger football issues going on, and we really don't care right now about the game this weekend. Texas will beat us this weekend, but it won't mean much to either team...we're pretty bad. Chubsy Whubsy is on the hot seat.

UGA became bowl-eligible (Probably headed to either the Weedwacker Bowl or the Outback Bowl....) with their win over Auburn. The North Avenue Trade School clinched a berth in the ACC Championship Game (Where they will play either Clemson of Boston College.) with a win over Duke.

UGA played Kentucky this weekend while GA Tech has an off week in preps for their game with UGA (8 PM kickoff).

By beating my Auburn Tigers  Sad

This season looked to be so promising...

The Tigers have a bye week to prepare for Alabama.

I wonder if they could take another bye week instead of playing the Tide?  Wink

This week, the Hogs play Mississippi State in Little Rock and then next week play LSU in Baton Rouge for the Golden Boot.

But lost a dog.

A shame really...I guess his heart couldn't handle the stress of the impending slaughter of his team next weekend.

It's rivalry weekend in the Big Ten.

Who will win the Old Oaken Bucket?

And will Rich Rodriguez have a job by the 4th quarter.  Smile

I would like to thank Rich Rodriguez for one thing. Because of him taking the Michigan job, Ryan Mallet decided to transfer from Michigan to Arkansas and we are eternally grateful!!
