For those of you who have young ones who are looking forward to sending their Christmas list and letters to Santa.
has announced that they will no longer deliver mail for Santa to North Pole. In addition the christmas postmark that used to be available from the North Pole. For over 50 years letters to Santa have been delivered to the North Pole, Alaska post office for Santa and return letters stamped with the north pole cancelation mark.
Citing security concerns the USPS
has announced that the holiday post mark will be done 400 miles south in Anchorage, and that any letters to Santa will be "Recycled" (read trash can) at the origin station with no return letter-a service that has been provided by Santa Clause house in North Pole since 1954. Every year the folks up there take the time to answer all the mail.
If we want to have kids keep getting letters from Santa we need to get a hold of congress and make sure that they tell the Northwest region of the post office to knock it off.
