For those of you not in the know, X-Factor is the UK reality show where the public vote for who should be the next music star - I am sure that most countries now have a program of this format, typically with one judge who is "Mr Nasty"
Every year, the winning song generally takes the top spot on the UK Music charts at Christmas.
This year it seems, the campaign to stop the X-Factor song from hitting the number one spot on facebook has gained enough steam to actually stop the X-Factor song from making the top spot.
The song chosen is Killing in the name of, by Rage against the machine. Admittedly, I purchased this song today - it is a great song, and I am also amazed to see the power behind social networking.
Simon Cowell even criticised the campaign himself, calling it "silly"
The mass media has now picked up on it, and the word seems to be spreading.
What's your opinions?
