And so this weekend he nabbed an entire roast turkey leg off the platter in the kitchen. Damn he can reach up high. He brought it out into the middle of the dining room (were visiting the in-laws, and fortunately it's hardwood) and proceeded to proudly eat it. I got it away from him before he could get to the bone.
And then he ran at two marmalute/huskies and got all in their faces and then when they lunged, he showed just how fast he could run (straight between Les's legs!). Fortunately, Les was there to bark louder than the wolfdogs. The same god-blessed animals who had been howling for a straight half hour 4-4:30 AM
Tonight's greeting was the best in a while. I got home and he came swarming down the stairs (he moves in such a way that I can only describe it as "swarming") at full steam and jumps up so his snout bangs into my nose. And the licking begins as I'm laughing and petting him. Then he ran away, jumped on the bed, sat down, and then lunged at me full-force so that I actually reflexively flinched. And in one bounce, he slammed into me (specifically, my testicles) and the jumping began again. And then one more circuit to the bed and back and then I picked him up and hugged him and he licked my whole face, making careful sure to get as far up in my nostrils as possible.
Now, THAT'S a moment to look forward to at the end of your day; a dog who is really excited to see you.
Oh, and uh, Airstud, he rolled in some horse manure as we started our trip.
