4 Months In Barcelona

Tue Jan 05, 2010 10:53 pm

So I will be studying abroad in Barcelona, I leave tomorrow. What are the must see of the area, good bars, food etc.. Any tips on cheap transportation? I know there is good metro service are there monthly passes?
I am also planning on doing a lot of traveling around Europe as well. I am planning on seeing the popular cities and all but any smaller places anyone recommends?

Why go to Barcelona to study a broad? You can do it here in the U.S.? Just kidding.
Go ahead and have fun. I hear it's fun all over.
Cheers! Oh Yeah, send us pictures!

You should find my friend who just started in Barcelona today. Apparently he has a whole list of things to do and places to eat at. Very good city to never make you bored.

If you are under 25 you are entitled to the T-Jove card. It costs €114 and you get three months of unlimited travel on all forms of public transport (metro, tram, bus...).

Don't let the cold weather scare you! Usually, it is much warmer!

Yes I am aware that it is a bit cold. But it seems like its cold every where. Here in Miami it is 45F! Normal lows are in the 60s this time. Besides if I was not in Barcelona I would be in DC so I know it will be warming in BCN then DC.

One nice thing about Barcelona: it has evolved in the last 25 years into one of the truly great cities for "foodies." So if you love food, you've gone to the right place! Big grin
