Dada - Diz Knee Land
Paul Simon - You Can Call Me Al

When songs get stuck in your head, sometimes you just have to listen to them . . .

A little band called Canterbury. I went on the Billy Talent tour last year and they opened for them in the UK, along with The Cancer Bats (utter crap, by the way). They're like electro rock type stuff, but it's pretty good. Their Myspace

Right now it's Gaga for me. Life is too short to have a "stick up where the sun don't shine" so I'm kind of getting into her. I'm also into a lot of Michael Jackson too. I'm sorry i didn't appreciate his talent more when he was with us. Faves: Earth Song, Stranger in Moscow and Liberian Girl..

And whilst I was writing this post, Look For Me started and up next next is;

Alexandra Burke - Broken Heels

Lately, I've switched to Pandora (for those of you who don't know, you don't know what song comes next). But today is one day that I'm actually listening to a set playlist.

Just played:
1) Halo- Beyoncé
2) Bad Romance- Lady Gaga

Now Playing:
1) Chairlift- Bruises (The song from the Nano Chromatic commercial)

Coming up:
1) Gavin DeGraw- In Love With A Girl
2) Lifehouse- Halfway Gone
3) White Tie Affair- Candle

I like having days off from school.  Smile

Some Junkhouse. Nice change from the standard-issue stuff one hears on the radio every other day, which to me gets old after a while. This stuff is much better to my ears.

Mario Lanza.
If you think Pavarotti was a great tenor then you should listen to Mario Lanza.
An American-Italian, he started as a truck driver.
His talent was discovered and he was sent to the Curtis Institute.
Then he became a world famous Opera star.
The man died at age 37 of an emboly.  Sad
There was a better way to fly it was called Concorde

I'm a sabian man myself, I use AA Metal-X though (14" hats, 18/19 crashes and a 20" ride). I've got Gretsch Club Rock shells (14x6.5, 13x9, 16x16, 18x16, 24x18) , and a pearl noname cheap snare that's actually pretty good. Yes, I have a pointlessly huge kit but it sounds awesome  Big grin  Cool The 24x18 kick drum has a great tone.

And I thought I had a lot to carry  Wink

To keep on topic, at the moment I'm listening to Dancing on the Ceiling - Lionel Richie. Woke up with it in my head and decided to put it on Big grin

Ennio Morricone's film score to the new movie Baaria. Along with his classics Once Upon a Time in the West and The Mission. Really fantastic music, I wish more people would join me in my passion for film score.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ik9oYGPWMnY

(The beginning song, if I remember right, Morricone actually composed for a different movie, and a variation of it was used in Inglorious Basterds that was also arranged by him. It's proven to be a pretty popular piece.)

And now I've moved onto this song...attention: If you have not heard this song, you are missing out on one of the many hidden gems life has to offer -- the rejected music (who knows why? probably yet another example of short-sightedness of the studios) to the 1998 film What Dreams May Come composed by, guess, Ennio Morricone!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pkfXa3P7iNw&feature=related

So tragic, and heartbreaking -- while uplifting and glorious in its own right.

By the way, if you haven't guessed by now, Ennio Morricone is my favorite composer. His music made me a fan of film score ever since I was a little kid. I grew up wanting to be him, composing grandious full orchestral scores for films, and conducting such moving melodies. Check him out, he is one of the geniuses who still composes for films.
