Can I Copy My SIM Card Contents ...

Sun Mar 28, 2010 6:36 pm

... Into anoter SIM Card?
Here's the deal. I have two phones. Same network. Instead of changing the card to whichever phone i'll use, i'd rather have two cards, with the same contents.
Is that possible? Thanks for any help.

Not possible you can only have one SIM per number. You would need to do a SIM change which would replace the original SIM and the original SIM would say ''SIM registration failure'' if you tried to use it on another phone. The only way is to switch the one SIM between two phones.

Not entirely correct you can get a second sim for a car phone, now you don't have to use it in a car phone you can use it in a second handset, both will have the same number, you just need to set up the diverts betwen the handsets.

with the same contents

What do you mean by "with the same contents"? If you mean your phone book/contact info, then yes, there are several ways. Copy the SIM contents to the phone, change SIMs and copy it back. As well Nokia & Samaung phones (others may) come with a software suit which will copy your info to your PC, from where you can copy it back to the other SIM.

Other stuff I don't know about, except to say that many phones store photo, music etc not on the SIM,but on an [micro] SD card, which can be copied directly using a windows PC with a card reader and the manufactures software suit.

Nokia PC Suite makes this very easy if you have a Nokia phone, I'm sure other manufacturers have similar products.

But as someone said above, copy everything to the phone, change SIMs and copy it all back.

One thing I discovered here when using two SIM cards with the same number, the second SIM displayed a different number on caller ID and SMS sent due to the card having an embedded number, despite being linked to my original number.
After Monday and Tuesday even the calendar says WTF...

Why would you need to set up diverts if you can do it with exactly the same mobile number?
