Radio Stations You've Discovered?

Wed May 19, 2010 11:06 am

We all get tired of listening to the same stations in our local areas... well I do anyway. I've discovered some pretty good stations around the globe, thanks to my iPhone app: TuneIn Radio.

I've especially found some great ones in Europe including, RixFM (Sweden), MixMegapol (Sweden), BBC Radio 1 (England), plus a range of others.

What are some the stations you've discovered whether on the net, phone, travelling abroad etc.

Check out Pirate Cat Radio.

http://www.piratecatradio.com/

It's my friend's radio station and it's broadcast worldwide.
Try to listen to it today (Wednesday, May 19th) at 2:00PM (14:00) Pacific standard time.

100.3 "The Sound" is new in SoCal. It's reminds you of the FM underground days with some DJ's from that period.

But the #1 DJ in LA,and if you want a music education, is Jim Ladd on 95.5, at night, who has no restrictions or play list.He keeps pulling out those unknown treasures. The man knows his stuff.
Tuesday's Off! Do not disturb.

Did it surprise you how similar BBC radio 1's playlist to our "alternative youth" station Triple J?

For somthing less mainstream I'd recommend FBi FM - 94.5 in Sydney, Oz, fbiradio.com on the interweb....playlist is 50% Australian (but not top 40, with 50% of that Sydney artists.

Yes! Another excellent station of that ilk is Melbourne's Triple R 102.7FM.

Well my father has an shortwave radio and its easy to listen and discover stations from all around the world but the bad thing is that those radios have a big price but they are really really good.
