Aww man, I was just en PHX and missed out on this place!

Definitely on my to-go list next time I'm around. Wonder if the nurses are to-go as well?

I'm all for it, apart from the lard. Chips fried in lard taste crap compared to regular oil, same with the buns - decent full cream butter not lard.

If it weren't for the fact that I don't like cheese, I'd ask for a double. I like their style. Rather than telling each person to be health conscious, they tell them to live to the fullest, even if it meant an 8K meal. Although I got to admit, that is just death waiting to happen...  Wow!

I'd love to eat at this restaurant!
Looks delicious and the service looks to be excellent!

He should open up one in Times Square in New York and Fisherman's Wharf in San Francisco.
I bet the European tourist would line up wanting to eat at this establishment!

No, you're not. I think this thread is the perfect example of Zentraedi's culture shock:

Quoting Zentraedi (Reply 21):
The one thing that gets me everytime I go back to the States is the constant clamor for quantity over quality. You see it everywhere.

It especially gets me when Americans hold their food on a pedestal. Coming back to the States, I get asked how I like "real food" as opposed the "cat food" over there. The food I eat in Japan is usually of a higher standard than the bulk, over-processed, feces ridden, ammonia-washed "real food" in the States.

Another thing that bothers me is how I come across grown, adult men in the US who says things like "I don't eat vegetables. Well, maybe potatoes, but nothing green." Not only that, but they say it with pride!

WTF?!? I'm thinking, "Huh, are you 5 years old or something?"

Then there's tofu. There are lots of great dishes with tofu. In fact, lots of great dishes that contain BOTH tofu and meat. However, if I mention "tofu" outside of any metro area, I get dirty and almost hostile looks from people. WTF?

McD's used to use lard to fry their fries way back before they switched to other oils, and yes, I think many of us who remember mc'd fries and others can tell a difference. Gawd I remember burgers with the buns oiled and grilled like that. Takes me way back. It seems every non chain b urger place serves a 'fancy' type of bun that is not grilled. but I remember those, how it would crunch when you'd bite it and the juicy burger.

You dont HAVE to have a 4 pattie burger, be in moderation and have a triple   well, I ll just have a double. Do they serve real strawberry shakes? mmmm

The fries have to be good if they're cooked in lard ... ever since they've come out with that trans fat free cooking oil fries have just never been the same

Interesting. I didn't notice anything unusual, as glass bottles are still available in the supermarkets in Denmark.

I thought the Mexican Coke and the American one had been homologated way back. Didn´t know that their sugar was still different. For what it´s worth, I am a diabetic, so it´s "LIGHT" or "DIET" everything for me since a few years ago.

I used lard in my deep friar to make some homemade egg rolls a few years ago.
A lady friend from China made the pork egg rolls from scratch.
OH MY GOODNESS that was so delicious!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The problem was that I had to wash my deep friar 3 times to get that greasy while film off completely.

I guess that was the point the resturant was trying to make with the term "Lardless" they were the healthy version. I know one thing, they still dam near killed me later. My stomach was on fire. Tums for the tummy.

Real coke instead of the shit sold in the US is probably the one thing in this restaurant that is healthier than other places. HFCS is a cheaper manufactured chemical alternative to natural cane sugar, which is why so many products sold in the US use it. As bad as sugar is for you, HFCS is probably worse. The human body doesn't even know how to process it, so it just turns to fat.
