Anyone Understand German?

Fri Oct 08, 2010 12:44 am

Hello all,

Just a quick one, can anyone tell me what a "6 Gang Handschaltung Sonderangefertigter Auspuff" is please. It's from here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yjle6z2z-uA and I need to know the manufacturer of the exhaust.

Thanks!

Are you sure? Someone asks if it's Eisenmann in the comments and the author replies "NEIN, sonderanfertigung" which, afaik, means "no" and something else.

"Sonderanfertigung" means about as much as "custom build", a "6-Gang Handschaltung" is a manual shift with 6 gears.

Babelfish says:
6 course Handschaltung specialmade exhaust

Maybe that helps?

Quoting RobK (Thread starter):
6 Gang Handschaltung

It means six gear manual transmission.

Quoting RobK (Thread starter):
Sonderangefertigter Auspuff

This roughly means specially designed exhaust pipe.

Sonderanfertigung is a special construction/design. The word is difficult to translate, but let's just say that the design is a unique one, not a design that is mass assembled.

If you are talking about the comments section the one poster who says NEIN Sonderanfertigung meaning 'special design' the other poster says NEIN Handschalter meaning 'manual switch'. It is an Eisenmann

6 Gang Handschaltung = 6 speed manual, Sonderangefertigter = custom-built, Auspuff = exhaust

Thanks. Custom built it is then. I knew it wasn't an Eisenmann from the sound.

Quoting stratosphere (Reply 8):
It is an Eisenmann

...and "Eisenmann" means "iron man"...
