"Hell Was Full"

Sat Oct 09, 2010 2:42 am

Returning from OKC today I was passed by a guy on a motorcycle wearing a military looking outfit, including the old Army helmet with cloth cover. Even an American flag flying on the back. What got me, however, were the words painted on the back:

"Hell was full,
so I came back"

That said a lot. And I'm glad he made it.

So am I. That reminds me of the line about the Marines in WW2. It may have been said after the battle of Iwo Jima. I am not sure of the exact words. It went something like this. "And when he reports to St.Peter, to St.Peter he will tell, just another Marine reporting sir, I have served my time in Hell."
It is better to die on your feet, than live on your knees.
