Dems Plan Of Palin Vs Obama Crumbling

Sun Oct 10, 2010 3:16 am

http://news.yahoo.com/s/dailycaller/...hmondteapartypresidentialstrawpoll

Got to say this wasn't much as a surprise as Christie's star is rising very fast as a politico with not only brains but with substance, someone who doesn't need a teleprompter to wow a crowd and is not afraid to take it to the scared cows that feel they are owed. He is also someone the far left is reluctant to attack (with the exception of Ed Schultz of course) since he isn't a far right nutcase. What we have here is a real leader, not an orator. I think as things begin to play out and it's obvious Palin can't get the nomination the Dems are going to be a bit of a pickle since they have only stratigized a Palin-Obama scenario since the way things look it's the only way he could win re-election. Oh yea that is if he wins the primary from Hillary.

The midterms are going to tell us a lot but what has been obvious is Gov Christie is the real rising star of the GOP. Strap yourselves in. It's going to be a hell of a ride.

Probably not going to happen.

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2010/0...-christie-for-presid_n_708765.html

http://www.nj.com/news/index.ssf/201...ov_chris_christie_says_theres.html

As he has for weeks, the governor was asked again about his presidential aspirations. He repeated his mantra that he is neither ready for the job nor does he want it badly enough to do what it would take to run.

"I just don’t want that, that badly right now, I just don’t," Christie said. "I’m thrilled to be the governor of New Jersey."

At least, unlike our current President, he has an honest assessment of his qualification for the job.

This is a standard response and is designed to keep the media at bay. When Clinton emerged as the frontrunner for the Dems he also denied for weeks and went as far as to say he wasn't running. Right up till when he announced his was.

I watched a good documentary on Clinton all through the process from when the rumors flew he was running. In which thre are a couple of scene of him being questioned by reporters and giving the same response as Gov Christie about his state needing him. Also tying the Ricky Ray Rector execution in which Clinton used as a propanda stunt to try to get the public thinking he would be tough on crime as POTUS. When a quick check of his career as Gov in Arkanas shows he was in the habit of commuting death rown inmates sentences but when the heat was on in the campaign he turned down the last minute appeal of that death rown inmate.

It's right in front of you. You kidding? All we hear is how the GOP has propped her up as their leader, how she, Beck and Rush are going to run? You don't need a source to see what is right in front of you unless of course your in denial.

Well halfway through next year we will get a good idea. If the Dems finally make a decision on the tax cuts and doesn't refuse to take a vote maybe we can get a good idea. What most likely will happen is once the election is over the Dems will see they are in grave trouble and will have no choice to use the GOPs idea to let all the tax cuts go for at least a two year period. If this jump starts the economy 2012 will be worse than 2010 for ya buddy because it will show the Obama original direction would have been a disaster. Which most know already which is why the polls reflect big GOP gains in three weeks but I will be more than happy to have a discussion after these steps have time to take effect on the economy.

The Dems were ready to pass a new tax law that provides new tax cuts for 98% of taxpayers. Republicans simply don't want that - being against it brings in too much money from that 2% for the campaigns.

It can happen in the lame duck session, or it can happen after Jan 20th. All up to the Republicans when it passes.

Quoting NIKV69 (Reply 8):

The major risk is that the Deficit Commission will throw some major cold water on the goodies the Republicans want to hand out to the wealthy.

It was rough enough when the Commission on base closings presented their findings - wait for this new commission.

There will be cuts in spending, but there will also be some sharp positions on taxes. The Tea Party will probably throw themselves into the Harbor.

So basically it might be really smart to get anything passed before the new Report is presented.

RICHMOND, Va. – New Jersey Governor Chris Christie won the first-ever Richmond, Va., Tea Party presidential straw poll on Saturday, garnering 14 percent of the 1,560 votes cast on Friday and Saturday. Former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin finished in a close second place with 13.5 percen

The difference was 0.5% out of 1540 votes.. that's 77 votes..

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again—my personal opinion is that Palin can be of more value to the conservative movement from outside the box of elected office. Her impact in supporting true conservatives, purging the RINOs, and supporting the TEA Party movement is far more profound than running for office, which would be a bloodbath of personal attacks the likes of which this country has NEVER seen.

To me Christie is hilarious, but overall he's not fit to be president. His political beliefs are good and he's a breath of fresh air for the liberal, high taxed, and corrupt New Jersey state legislature. But he's relatively inexperienced for the executive. Personally I'd like to see him do more and he'll have to work hard because the state budget is completely screwed.

Corzine was a narrow minded hack. George W. Bush is to the USA as what Jon Corzine is to New Jersey.

Why would he want to become President? Specially considering how you usually claim that the only driver to become President is making money.

At least that why you say that Palin wouldnt run, because she can make more money by not being president..

Exactly what I was thinking - not exactly a ringing endorsement.
NIK - I have said in previous threads that I agree with you that Palin won't be the nominee in 2012, but I am not lining up with you on anointing this guy as the chosen one based on a single straw poll a year and a half before the first primary. If history is our guide, the go-to guy (or gal) may not even be on the national radar just yet. Think back to 1990 and the seemingly foregone conclusion that Bush I would get a second term. No one ever heard of Bill Clinton back then.
Another point I have to question is your assertion that the Dems are only planning an Obama/Palin match up in 2012.
I think it's naive at best to think their strategists haven't worked up other scenarios.
Not that it will matter, I'm on record as saying Obama will be a one-term president (unless the Republicans are dumb enough to nominate Palin).

I agree. He never had much of a chance. I seriously considered not voting for him on the assumption he'd be wasted on the current state of the boobocracy; I was so tempted to let McCain and the Republicans hold the over-brimming political bedpan they created, but they had to get Palin on board... Sigh...

Here is my good find of the day!

Obama is related to Palin

NEW YORK (AP) — President Barack Obama has family ties to none other than Sarah Palin, according to the genealogists at Ancestry.com, a discovery the family history site made when looking for connections between political foes.

And that’s not all — Obama also is apparently related to conservative radio host and relentless critic Rush Limbaugh.

I think you need to do a little research: The Democrats want to let the Bush tax cuts expire for everyone. Then they want to reinstall them for 98% of the taxpayers.

If the Democrats get their way there will be no new tax cuts for 98% of the taxpayers (including the 40% that pay no taxes) but there will be a tax increase on the 2% (that already pay over 45% of all taxes).

As an independent I find her to be scary but at the same time I also find Reid, Pelosi, and Biden to be quite terrifying as well (and in that order.) I feel like Americans at this point are just fed up with trusting the government because the Bush years were a mess and the Obama plan hasn't lived up to promise thus far.

I think in the long run, Palin is toast as more moderate republicans like Gary Johnson will take the attention away from her as we move closer to 2012. Independents are NOT happy right now. You will likely see Obama tweak his priorities and even consider reviewing the possibility of Hillary as his running mate as we move closer. I personally think that Hillary might even challenge Obama to the democratic nomination if things don't get cleaned up, especially on an economic level.

Truth hurts doesn't it? Fact is Clinton many times denied he would be running. I know the thought of Christie running scares you because it dispels the left wing mythitical fantasy of Sarah Palin running since it's the only way you can deflect attention from the horrible situation the Dems have put us in and win the white house in 2012. Well it is just that, fantasy. I will wait for things to play out as I can see Christie's rise is still in it's infant stages but trust me he will be a force to be dealth with and a hatchet job interview with Kaite Couric or Charles Gibson won't bail you out.

Truth hurts doesn't it? Fact is Clinton many times denied he would be running. I know the thought of Christie running scares you because it dispels the left wing mythitical fantasy of Sarah Palin running since it's the only way you can deflect attention from the horrible situation the Dems have put us in and win the white house in 2012

Sigh. Where to begin?

1) Denying that you're running for president does not mean you will. Yes, some deny it ... but that doesn't mean that everyone who denies it is certain to run 100 percent of the time. Colin Powell denied it and he never ran.

2) I don't want Sarah Palin to run for president, and I definitely do not want her to actually make it to the top of the Republican ticket. I want as good of an option for America as possible on the GOP ticket in case that person actually wins. I don't want to sell out my country to an insane person just because it would be easier for my preferred candidate to win. I want my candidate to win on his own merits, not merely because any reasonable person could beat Palin in a nationwide election.

3) I don't have any feelings at all about Christie running - he seems somewhat more reasonable than other GOP candidates. But when it's time to declare his candidacy, he'll only have held elected office for two years.

He should reconsider.

And/or a complete dumb ass.

He is, but once again lack of experience. He's been governor for under a year in NJ. After Obama pulling the whole "young, cool, JFK" card, I'll never be duped into voting for someone with that kind of lack of experience. It's almost common sense, you don't vote for someone to be president that has lack of leadership experience.

Ok so using your logic denying it does't mean they definately will not run? It's politics buddy. Your going to believe everything you hear? If that is the case you can go get a blowjob from another girl and it's not cheating on your wife.

The funny thing with Christie is that he actually subverted the NJ Legislature by declaring a "fiscal emergency" and using the emergency to avoid his budget cuts being debated in the legislature.

Republicans screamed when Obama's healthcare bill didn't follow the proper voting channels, but Christie is a "hero" for subverting the legislature to pass his agenda.

You're not in any position to question anyone's logic.

But no, that's not what it means - it means we don't know what he's going to do, and frankly, having you posit that he's definitely going to run makes me think that he's less likely to run than ever.

Great logic I guess what you are trying to say is your hoping he doesn't run since he probably at this point destroys Obama and the media can't assasinate him. It's brutally obvious but we are arguing semantics at this point. I will be patient and wait as it unfolds. It's great to watch.
