Anyone Have An IPhone 4?

Sun Oct 31, 2010 3:11 pm

Anyone here have an iPhone 4? Anyone who had a 3GS and now has a 4? What are your favourite parts, and your worst parts?

Im getting one soon, so would like to know peoples opinions on it.

Thanks very much!

Yup, I got myself an iPhone 4 to replace my 3GS when they came out and had no end of problems, but still (for some reason) insist on using one!

On the first one the screen was broken (a common complaint on first releases)
Second: The home button wouldn't work unless you pushed it stupidly hard
Third (my current one) is starting to develop the same home button problem...

On my older iPhone's it was mainly the vibrator switch that went insane every time you shook the phone

Kudos to the Apple store though, they just give you a new one every time!

The main thing about the iPhone 4 is the screen, it IS a whole lot better and it makes reading websites/text a considerable amount easier. As well as that the gyro (new to the iPhone 4) is actually quite cool to use in games!

Apart from that, we all know the signal issues, but they're fixing that in the next release with more insulation apparently...

I've said it before on other threads involving these "smart phones" and now I'll say it again................

Are we asking too much for a phone to do?

Thanks,

I went from a 3g to a 4. Only real difference for me was Camera/video and better screed, I upgraded instead of replacing the battery.

Other than that I notic no real difference but then I did not ask the phone to be more than a phone/ipod and internet.

Only 3g service here so 4g is not used yet.

Didnt like the 3GS but loved the 4 and have had it since the launch date in the UK last June. No problems at all with signal or anything else. Works 100%

Those things really shouldn't be called "phones" anymore, but I can't think of a better alternative... "portuter" doesn't really cut it.

I was a big BlackBerry fan for a long time, and I finally decided to Mac-ify my life by getting an iPhone 4 and a MacBook Pro. I couldn't be happier. The screen resolution is amazing. You have to hold a 4 and a 3G side-by-side to truly appreciate the quality of the screen.

I'm on my second phone, as the first one had the proximity sensor issues that have been reported on various websites. Basically, I was constantly putting the phone on mute, 3-way calling, hanging up on people, etc. with my cheek while on a call. I took it to my local Apple store, and they replaced my device without hassle. The second one works perfectly. No signal issues with either one.

Very happy with my purchase, though if you are often in areas without 3G coverage (I don't know how often that would be in the UK), the performance on an EDGE network leaves a lot to be desired.

Are you sure you're not getting a bit ahead of available technology with that...?

I was referring to the as-yet-nonexistent 4G circuitry in the iPhone...!

Yes, I've got the iPhone 4. Although I had problems with it crashing a lot at first, it's good now. No further issues.

I don't use the bumper that Apple sent me - I'm happy to use the phone without it. The screen on it is superb - it's a nice thing to use as a portable photo portfolio.

And it's really not a phone, it's probably better described as a miniature computer with phone built in.

Thanks everyone! People in the UK with an iPhone 4, what network are you on and how much 3G do you use?

O2 and I pay for their highly expensive 3G Bolt-On which is a bloody fiddle now they've changed their T's and C's...

Am thinking of moving to Orange as I've missed my Orange Wednesdays since I was forced to change to O2 with my 1st iPhone!

I've got an iPhone 4 as well. Wouldn't be without it. Have had NO issues with signal loss, maybe it's a NZ carrier thing, I don't know.

I have one and it's on Orange. I haven't had it for very long (at all) so I can't really give you much information, but my first impression is that it is much better than a Blackberry (although i've only used the bold 9800). Everything is very user friendly and slick and the screen is absolutely beautiful.
