John Force Wins 15th Nhra Championship

Mon Nov 15, 2010 8:10 pm

Yesterday at Pomona ,John Force in NHRA funny car drag racing class, proved he is still the king. After Matt Hagan lost a devastating first round match up with Bob Tasca,in which Hagan would had been crowned champ if had won,Force was in position to win his 15th championship.Force delivered,in his usual dramatic style, by winning not only the years driver crown but the Pomona event itself. And crowd went wild! And they did.And well deserved for Force and his racing team.As the ESPN announcers.Paul Page and Mike Dunn said it right, the John Force career is worthy of a movie consideration.

John Force is a great American story, who faced a lot of adversity, including a possible career ending accident, came back,
and always remained positive and took down championship number 15.But what I like, and most fans like about Force,as with most drivers, how up front and honest he is.It sometimes gets him in trouble but that's what we like about him.

Congratulations to Force,Austin Coil and Mike Neff.Way to go! A Southern California,Yorba Linda team.

Also congratulations to Greg Andersen(PS),LE Tonglet(PSM)(Rookie) and Larry Dixon(TF) and other class championship winners.

What about returning nitro racing to 1/4 mile racing? Restricted? Unrestricted? You're thoughts.

I was recording the race but my stupid DVR ran out of space so didn't catch the end. Glad John won the championship. I've been a fan ever since I learned his name. Though, I do feel a little bad for Matt Hagan, everything was looking pretty good for him up until Tasca won.

I don't mind the current distance. I know the die-hards want to go back to 1/4 mile, but I don't really see any reason to go back. From my view, everything is working pretty well. Plus, at the end of the day, if it really is safer, then I'm all for it.

Usually when the same guy keeps winning over and over again, fans grow bored and hope for a change. With Force, its the exact opposite. I got a few old Diamond P tapes from the late 80's when Force really started to win things and its amazing how he hasn't changed one bit. To this day I still only understand half of what he yells.

Congrats John Force!
To actively root against anybody is just low, and I hope karma comes back at you with a vengeance

But I will take the 1,000ft as a safety measure. Not really taking that much off the ET but keeping the speeds down is one of the major issues. Goodyear has said of years that 325mph was about all they could build there tires with any safety margin. Even at 1,000ft they are exceeding that.
John Force has done more than about anybody promoting NHRA and drag racing. Kudos
