Happy Eid To All Muslim Members!

Tue Nov 16, 2010 6:01 am

So it appears today is 10 ذو الحجة (Dhu al-Hijjah) 1431 (at least, that's the case here in Belgium...).

This is the day of the Eid al-Adha (or whatever you call it) so Eid mubarak to all muslim members !

Regards

Wait... wasn't Ramadan a few months ago?

Indeed it was, but you most probably confuse Eid al-Fitr (end of Ramadan) with Eid al-Adha.

Doc Muslims celebrate two holidays a year. The Eid Al Fitr this one is at the end of Ramadan and Eid Al Adha this one is around 70 days later and this one is to celebrate the Hajj (pilgrimage).

Ahh that's what I was confused about too. Is there any sort of food eating/sharing as there is with the end of Ramadan? A muslim students assoc. at my university held one for the end of Ramadan!

Of course there is. We usually buy a whole sheep, and distribute part of its meat to the poor. This days KSA, freezes the meat and send it around to the poor countries.
