WikiLeaks: Cuba Objected To M. Moore's "Sicko"

Mon Dec 20, 2010 6:33 am

Wonder if Michael Moore is still as quick to support Mr. Assange now? Whether true or not (who knows if the cables weren't just the result of insular State Dept. staff), this is certainly entertaining!

Free publicity for Moore, either way.

A confidential US embassy cable released by WikiLeaks claimed that Castro's government banned the Oscar-nominated film because it painted such a "mythically" favourable picture of Cuba's healthcare system that the authorities feared it could lead to a "popular backlash"

shhh dont tell the left it might ruin their perception of reality.
Calling an illegal alien an 'undocumented immigrant' is like calling a drug dealer an unlicensed pharmacist

Seems as if this has been refuted:

Seems as if the media was just in a rush to put this sensationalist story out sans due diligence and fact checking.

lol, my bad. I didn't actually click on the link you posted and just assumed that it was the same old news since you didn't mention that Moore had tried to refute the initial report.

Did you actually read the article at all?!?!

The film was not banned in Cuba at all, on the contrary it was widely screened to the populace.

According to Michael Moore...any evidence of such screenings?

Why would Michael Moore need to lie about that?

Anyways, it was reported by the mainstream media that the movie was generally well recieved in Cuba. The idea that it was banned seems to me be baseless.
