Italian Army Drops Off Ferrari FF With Chinook

Sun Mar 13, 2011 8:19 pm

Usually, a Ferrari presentation of this kind would take place at a race circuit, but not this time as Maranello chose the Plan De Corones ski resort in Italy to tout its new four-seater model’s all-wheel drive capabilities.

Being that the ski resort can only be reached by ski-lifts, Ferrari commissioned the help of the Italian air force to transport the two press cars at the top of Plan De Corones at 2,350 metres.

"accessible only by ski lifts,"

I'd like to know how they built the ski lifts/resort in the first place. Cool video nonetheless..

It's possible it is more accessible in the summer.

When reading the title I thought they had dropped it as in "booom the Ferrari"

Anyway, a 4*4 car is not a Ferrari !

Did it roll out the back and hit the ground? Maybe that's how the rear end happened.

Ferrari cars will change radically in the future. 4WD is just the start, hybrid will be next.

And they have to - no longer can Ferraris be mechanical dinosaurs with outdated engines and dubious quality as in the older days. If they continued in the path of cars like 348 and 512 (the Testarossa, not the 512S/512M race-car), they'd be left in the dust by their rivals.

Very cool indeed.

Must have been an expensive stunt, Chinook in all.

Hope they look after it a bit better than the Lamborghini the Police enjoyed, all be it briefly.

Until it was smashed.

Of course its a Ferrari. Just like those days when being a sports car required a clutch pedal.

Next will be multiair, hybrid is still quite a few years away.

One of my dream cars. I always lurk at them in the Monte Carlo Ferrari garage near the harbour. The Enzos, FF and 458 Italia. Can't afford me one of them, for sure.

I forwarded the page to F1 Ferrari geek friend.
Nice find. Thanks for posting.

It is all relative to look at something like this while thousands are crushed in rubble and overflowed by a tsunami. Life can be so cruel.

 Wow!
There was a better way to fly it was called Concorde

Perhaps if you made fewer trips on Concorde, you might have been able to afford one?

Mind you if I had the choice I would have gone for Concorde.

Those days are still here   Look at a formula 1, if the pilot doesn't engage the clutch when stopping, the engine stops !
