Jetpacks Set For Lift-off

Thu Apr 14, 2011 12:38 am

Mods, not exactly sure where this should be posted, Civil or Hobby or Non. Please feel free to move if you wish.

WOW, I want one.

I can see this being a big part of rescues and or reconnaissance, especially in hard to get at places where conventional equipment could not be used.

And the price is not to outlandish for home use either.

Haven't these contraptions been the Next New Thing for at least four decades?

Don't know of any that are being made on a commercial basis at this stage ?

However, yes I have seen different models or should I say types of similar machine on TV, but these were not as advanced as this one appears to be. This one also seems to be priced at a price, that people could afford, albeit wealthy ones.

Ductedfanpack, surely.

http://martinjetpack.com/what-is-a-martin-jetpack.aspx

The Martin Jetpack is the world’s first practical jetpack. It consists of a purpose-built gasoline engine driving twin ducted fans which produce sufficient thrust to lift the aircraft and a pilot in vertical takeoff and landing, enabling sustained flight.
