So Eurovision next year will be in Baku, Azerbaijan. I was rooting for them. I think it's great and am sure they will do a great job. I don't think Eurovision has ever been held in the Caucasuses or so far from central Europe. I find this region of the world intriguing.
To get some perspective it's only 542 km from Baku to Tehran while it is 4000 km to London and 5200 to Iceland (furthest point that's still in Europe). It's only 2700 km to Delhi and about 2500 km to the border with China. They are five hours ahead of GMT which means that the competition will probably start at 12 midnight in Baku and end at 3-4 am.
