Hugo Chavez In Grave Condition In Cuba?

Sun Jun 26, 2011 3:17 am

There are all kinds of rumours flying around about the health of Hugo Chavez, with multiple papers citing various sources about Chavez being in serious condition after an emergency surgery in Cuba, and his daughter leaving Venezuela. I don't post a particular link or news article because you can find your own. But that's basically the gist.

Anyone in Venezuela to give an update on what is being said in the street there and the mood?

There are rumors that he has a pelvic infection, maybe prostrate cancer. You don't live forever and I bet there are many politicians in his home country and in the USA who would have no problem with or would cheer on his dying.

So true though I don't trust this guy as far as I can throw him. I will wait and see what is going on.
Hey that guy with the private jet can bail us out! Why? HE CAN AFFORD IT!

I think this is a rally-the-base scenario. The leader is "ill", leader makes triumphant return before campaigning time, leader ensures people vote for him so that he can defend interests against external forces.

That whole "just one more term" is a scam. Bet anyone if he's elected, halfway through he'll ask for another term because his agenda is not finished and with his party no longer having the free pass aka 2/3 majority in parliament, you can bet his work will be slowed down.

That certainly would be his MO.

So why do I think there is something fishy about going to Cuba or being in Cuba for health issues.
Surely the Venezuelan medical system can not be that far behind the rest of the world that Hugo has to go somewhere else for medical treatment. That sure does not sound good for his record for health care for his country.

I'd think that a publicity wh@re like Chavez couldn't keep quiet long enough to sneeze, let alone maintain radio silence for weeks, but Osama proved me wrong!

Caught early, prostate cancer generally can be taken care of and it's certainly not an emergency situation.

If he treats the doctors there like he treats a lot of others I can understand why he leaves the country for medical care, especially surgery.

...somewhere in the US, a very well-paid doctor is keeping very silent.
