1987 Volkswagen Jetta 1.8 inherited when my Mom switched to a Buick Century.
1995 Mercury Mystique V6 (a spruced up Ford Mondeo for our European friends) that my Dad bought from Ford after my brother (a Ford employee at the time) had used it for one year.
1999 Volkswagen Jetta 2.0 (Vento in Europe maybe?) that my parents bought for me.
2003 Saab 9-3 2.0 t (first car bought by myself).
2008 Mercedes Benz C280 Classic (eventually it was renamed C300 to more accurately reflect its engine size).
I now walk and ride the subway, mostly the 4, 5 and 6 NY MTA trains. And I am happy about it. I do miss the Benz a lot, though.

Should I move back to Mexico City in 2012, I intend to buy a BMW X1 xDrive25iA.

I have also driven quite regularly other cars in my household: 1990 Buick Century Ltd. 3.1, 1997 Chevrolet Malibu V6, 1999 Honda Accord EX, 2007 Toyota Camry XLE and 2011 Audi A3 Sportback 1.4T.

2000 Dodge Stratus SE First car I ever had, parents bought for me. Owned from 5/04 to 4/08.
2006 Ford Taurus SE Paid for the car myself with cash. Quite a proud day. Owned from 4/08 to 7/09.
2007 Ford Fusion SE V6 AWD Thought I needed AWD in Reno. Owned from 7/09 to 2/10.
2010 Honda Civic EX Realized I didn't need AWD. Leased before I went underneath on the Fusion.

If I could go back, I would have never bought the Fusion. While it was a great car, I bought it for the wrong reasons and ended up back in a FWD car months later. I owned the Taurus, and put a significant amount of its equity down on the Fusion. By the time I traded the Fusion in, I had almost no equity left. Ugh.

LOL. Fortunately, I only had to put up with it for 4 weeks. It was the first non-diesel car I'd driven in ages and suffice it to say, the engine was anaemic. The worst quality about it was the way it would rock side to side when buffeted by winds or turbulence!

Cars I have owned:

1982 Ford Laser Ghia 1.5 litre manual
1989 Ford Falcon GL 3.9 litre auto
2005 Ford Fairmont 4.0 litre auto

Other cars I have driven:

1980 Holden Gemini
1987 Nissan Pintara GL
1988 Ford Falcon GL
1990 Nissan Pulsar GX 1.8 litre auto
1994 Toyota Corolla Seca CSi 1.6 litre manual
1999 Ford Falcon Forte (rental)
2001 Ford Falcon Forte Series II(rental)
2002 Ford Falcon Forte Series III (x2) (rental, friend's car)
2002 Ford Falcon XT
2004 Ford Falcon XT (Mk II)
2004 Ford Focus 2.0 litre auto (rental)
2004 Toyota Hilux (company car)
2004 Ford Territory TX (rental) (x2)
2005 Ford Focus (rental)
2006 Ford Focus (rental)
2007 Holden Rodeo
2007 Ford Mondeo Zetec TDCi (test drive)
2007 Ford Focus (rental)
2008 Mazda 2 1.5 litre auto
2008 Volkswagen Golf (Mk V) GTi manual
2008 Ford Focus (rental)
2009 Honda Accord Euro manual (test drive)
2009 Ford Falcon G6E Turbo (test drive)
2009 Ford Fiesta (rental)
2009 Toyota Camry (rental)
2010 Ford Focus (rental)
2010 Nissan Versa (rental)
2010 Hyundai i45 (test drive)

This is probably not an exhaustive list. Of those I've driven, the 2009 Ford Falcon G6E Turbo was without a doubt the quickest. 4.0 litre DOHC turbocharged in-line 6 was arguably the best engine out of the cars I've driven - powerful, responsive (albeit with a litle turbo lag) and most of all, quiet, just like a luxury sedan should be   That said, the most fun I've had behind the wheel was, without a doubt, driving the VW Golf Mk V GTi.

1981 Volvo DL (might have been a 1980) (the cah I learned to drive in)
1986 Volvo 740 GLE
1987 Honda Civic (the cah I learned how to drive a manual transmission in)

somebody's Mercury Topaz on prom night in Sherborn, Massachusetts in 1990 (I was the only one sober)

coworker's Toyota Celica ST    while she was on vacation in 1996

Rentals: Plymouth Neon in Dallas in 2000 (or was it 2001), Ford Escort in Sacramento round the same time, Ford Windstar    in Hawaii in 2001, Pontiac Sunbird (methinks) in Milwaukee in 2004, Oldsmobile Alero in Sacramamento as well...hmmmm...more rentals - a Chevy Aveo in Jacksonville just last Novemba, and a Nissan something-or-other on my 2nd Jacksonville trip a month later. It wasn't a Cube, but it was similarly tiny. Think it started with a V-something...

Of course, my JAX-ATL flight was canceled due to a blizzard, and attempts at interlining me were unsuccessful, so I called my boss who said to check back into the hotel and go to Hertz and get the car back or get another car and head right the heck back to the data center and put in another eight hours (on Christmas day, obviously). They couldn't give me the itty bitty Nissan back, in fact they only had one car available, and it was a 2011 Mustang, with leather seats.

Same here. I've rented literally hundreds of cars.

Listing a few: the most fun to drive was probably a Caterham on a track and/or several small 4WD on mud-plugging duties (Lada Niva, LR Defender and, lately, a Suzuki Samurai).

Fastest (in a straight line) probably an M3 or an Impala SS, don't know which. The M3 is definitely the most expensive and the Impala SS the worst drive ever (at least the several crown vics and grand marquises are RWD even though the ride is also like a rubber hammock).

Best hot hatch, a clio V6, miles ahead of golf GTI, Mégane RS, Focus ST and Leon Cupra. Classic hot hatches R5 turbo and lancia delta integrale (AMAZING drive, though I couldn't thrash it as hard as I would have liked).

Crappiest, definitely my first car, a diesel Renault 5 that had been doing farm duty for over 15 years when I picked it up.

Now I drive an Alfa Mito (daily), a Mazda MX-5 (weekend) and the Samurai for offroad.

Ones myself/the wife have owned:

1982 Ford Escort 1.1 (dashboard rattled severely when speed exceeded 70mph)
1984 Ford Escort 1.6 (more power plus it was the GL version so the dashboard didn't rattle)
1987 Ford Fiesta XR2 (nice car reluctantly swapped for a more practical at the time)
1986 Ford Sierra 2.0 estate
Procession of Daimler DS420's for work (big leather seats, 4.2 litre straight six engine, really comfortable for passengers crap for the driver)
1991 Volvo 940 2.0 turbo (comfortable & fast)
1997 Ford Galaxy 2.3
1994ish Volvo 440 (ok, but drivers door fell off through manufacturing error)
2001 Ford KA (fun City car nice to drive)
2003 Volvo V70 low pressure turbo (crap car poor fuel economy poor performance, how could a manufacturer head backwards from the 940 from 12 years ago)
1999 Ford Transit pick up truck - bomb proof, the vehicle of choice for the UK workman
2006 Ford Galaxy 2.0 diesel turbo (my 1st diesel, great improvement on the earlier Galaxy
2009 Ford Focus 1.3 Used for local runnign about, nice car great for nipping into town
Vauxhall Omegas for work , replaced the DS420's now the driver is as comfortable as the passengers, plus aircon and don't need to tow a fuel bowser !

As to ones I have driven, everything from landrovers to minibuses to tractors, misc hire cars etc. The one that stands out though is a friends kit car, 2.0 Ford Sierra engine in half a ton of space frame chassis with open wheels. You could spin the tyres in every gear.

Nah wasn't decent - leaky as a sieve and drank fuel! Drove nice when it was newer, but after 130k miles it was starting to ail, and there was almost as much rust as bodywork!

Love my Getz its an awesome little motor - real nippy little thing, and will go for miles on a teaspoon of petrol!

That was the first Lincoln I owned and started it all. I've always wanted one because my babysitter (when I was 4 years old) had one when they were brand new.
I bought mines used in 1992 in Los Angeles.
I'll never forget that day. The seller had just washed & waxed it. It was all black with black vinyl top and black leather seats. I took it for a spin and I was grooving to the 8track tape of Boz Skaggs 'Silk Degrees'.
I was amazed with the amount of power the car had at takeoff and how the car glided over bumps in the road.
I was moving up from the Mercury Cougar.

There are a handful still running around in the US and Canada. There may be a few in Australia that belong to the Lincoln Car Owners Club members. I left the book with all worldwide members back in the United States. I can put you contact with someone that may have one down in Australia.

Wouldn't suprise me if there's one hiding out around Geelong, with the car culture there, especially with the Ford product. Maybe someone at the Ford discovery centre might have a contact, they seem to have a few events with the local Ford car clubs around Geelong & Melbourne. Always been meaning to check that place out.

I took to mean driven/drove (which would obviously include owned vehicles); which explains the length of my list. granted, I'm not sure if he was asking for just cars or other vehicles as well.

If it's the latter, you're driving Falstaff's tractor could possibly count.

Look at the bright side, your old Lincoln that was taken away by the state of California now lives in a couple of brand new Ford Aspires. It has given its life up for a better cleaner environment!

Umm, make that Ford Fiestas.

What Cars Have You Driven?

I have hundreds of vehicles on my list that I have driven. Way too many to list here.

I have owned a fair number of cars:
85 Ford Bronco II
64 Mercury Comet V-8
64 Mercury Comet I-6
85 Buick Riviera
78 Cherolet Caprice wagon
84 Oldsmobile 98
72 Cadille Coupe DeVille
97 Saturn SL2
77 Pontiac Trans Am
96 Chevrolet Lumina
65 Dodge Polara
80 Cadillac Fleetwood
00 Mercury Grand Marquis
08 Lincoln Town Car
05 Dodge Magnum
07 Chrysler Sebring
77 Ford F150
80 Ford F100
66 Ford F100
84 Chevrolet 1/2 ton
85 Honda Accord
89 Mercury Sable
93 Chrylser Lebaron
86 Chevrolet 3/4 ton
80 Mercedes-Benz 300TD
72 Mercedes-Benz 220D
71 Mercedes-Benz 200
74 Mercedes-Benz 240D
63 Studebaker lark

I think that is it, I might be missing one or two.

I have had some others that I technicaly owned because I had titles in my name but I don't count them because they were never licensed and driven under me. Michigan is an easy state to get a title for a lost title old car and some other states are not. I have titled friends cars (with no titles) under my name in Michigan and then "sold" them the car and it goes back to their state with a clean Michigan title so they can get a title in their state. None of the cars were ever in my possession and never even in Michigan so I don't count them on the list of cars I have owned. I

I don't think I can actually remember every car I've ever driven. That number is so high, I'd have to really sit here for a very long time.

Ten nice ones:

Citroen SM

What Cars Have You Driven?

Cars I've driven more than just a test drive etc:

Daewoo Lanos - driving school car - poor visibility out the back, and steering so lifeless that it seemed coincidental that the car turned at the same time that you turned the steering wheel...

1988 Austin/Rover Metro 1275cc. Four speed, manual everything including choke, one of the two speakers didn't really work, stolen once but the criminals disliked it so much we got it back. And yet I loved it. More fun than it should've been...

2002 Skoda Fabia 1.4 100bhp - the dark horse. A conservatively styled Skoda powerful enough to be a pleasant surprise behind the wheel.

2009 Skoda Fabia 1.4 85bhp - a fine car, but I feel that Skoda took a step backward with the new model. Downrated engines, less impressive interior.

2011 Peugeot 207 1.6 HDI 92 diesel - I got it almost two months ago now - engine is very well matched with the car. More than enough power for the size of car, with excellent fuel economy.

I've also driven (over 500 miles)...

Ford Edge 3.5 Auto (is there a manual?) - pleasantly surprised by its comfortable seats, decent handling, and sensible auto box.

Peugeot 5008 1.6 HDI 112 - I'd probably choose a more powerful engine, but again pleasantly surprised - I've driven MPVs before and they've all felt their size. The 5008 handles like a smaller car.
Have you ever felt like you could float into the sky / like the laws of physics simply don't apply?
