Hotel Help Needed

Thu Sep 08, 2011 2:08 pm

In November I am going to Australia.

On November 12th at about 10:30 I will be departing Perth and arriving in Sydney about 6:00 am. My next flight leaves at about 4:30 pm.

I would like to get a hotel room close to the airport for those times to rest up, shower and store our luggage. How do I go about booking a room for these times since basically a normal check-out time is too early (11:00 am) and then I'd be too early for the normal check-in time (2:00-3:00 pm)...

Anyone with experience, please let me know.

Thanks!

Most hotels, especially airport ones will offer day use rooms. Typically a day use rate is no cheaper than an overnight rate as the room still needs to be taken out of their overnight inventory to make it available for the day use.

I would recommend calling the hotel reservations line and booking day use, rather than booking online. Every day use is a bit different in terms of times so often needs a conversation to get it right

As mentioned previously, call the hotel. Particularly airport hotels will be used to dealing with queries like this, and will soon be able to sort something out.

A few years ago I was flying down to Miami, leaving Vegas at midnight and arriving into Miami first thing in the morning. I emailed the hotel and asked if it was possible to check in to my room early. They said provided there was a spare room, it wouldn't be a problem. Sure enough, when i arrived at 6am there was a room waiting for me.
