Reading the article it sounds to me like ASPA just wants to get back at him no matter what as a sort of revenge. They're after him for tax evasion, I don't see why ASPA would give a damn.

And you may want to expand the title a little bit, add "under arrest warrant" or something like that if you can fit it.

The warrant is for some Taxes that weren't paid including VAT taxes. Mexicana was in deep financial trouble before it went broke, is it hard to believe they were using the tax money to keep the ship going. Its sad to arrest a CEO for trying to help a business keep going, the taxing authorities can line up like other creditors in a bankruptcy. When has a US airline CEO been arrested for not having the airline pay taxes when it has gone chapter 11 ? Never ?

It is kind of sad that they hate him so much. I personally don't blame the guy because with the drug wars, I wouldn't want to go to Mexico. With the escalating level of violence sales must have faltered and the company was doomed.

Hardly anything to do with it. They succumbed due to idiotic management, and maybe to a lesser extent the whole overblown swine flu scandal.

Not the root cause. I perceive criminal mismanagement aka loot. Selling the headquarters building, airplanes, assets and run away with the money. Helped of course by a very lax, incompetent or even corrupt oversight on behalf of the Mexican State.
