My perfect funeral would be a traditional Irish funeral, with a traditional Irish-built wooden coffin (see examples at Finlay http://finlaygrp.com/prods_coffins.html
). I am first-generation Irish-American, and have lived in the UK in the recent past. How about an Irish wake, a traditional church service with my coffin carried in on six sets of shoulders (as they do it in Europe), and bagpipers?
Alternatively, if I did decide to get cremated, I would like my ashes split between several smaller urns, each one interred in one of the several cities I have lived in over my lifetime (Fort Wayne, IN
; London, England; San Francisco, CA
, for example).
As yet another alternative, I could donate my body to research or medical school. Afterwards I would like my cremains split between my cities as mentioned above.
I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made... (Psalm 139:14)
