Travel Channel's Baggage Battle Show

Tue Mar 27, 2012 5:41 pm

I think I saw N1120A's rolex getting pulled from luggage at LAX that someone bought for $20. Not surprised people actually make a living on buying unclaimed luggage. Anyone plan on watching the show?

With a title of Baggage Battles, I was expecting something more along the line of "ten tourist charter flights arrive at the same time - See who survives the baggage claim!"  Looks like something along the lines of "Storage Wars." Good to switch your brains off, but nothing to write home about.

It seems to be the baggage version of the various storage unit shows. I didn't even realize that there even were such auctions, as I though airlines sold unclaimed baggage to the company that has the Unclaimed Baggage store in Alabama. With less and less passengers checking bags and the tracking technology improving, I'm sure the amount of unclaimed bags continues to shrink.

I don't understand why anybody would not claim their luggage when they exit the plane. Would you leave your suitcase and other personal items at a hotel when you check out?
