FLA A@M Members Charged In Hazing

Thu May 03, 2012 2:47 am

Where is the outrage by Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson on this?? Could it be that black on black issues are a non-issue? I understand and have seen hazing in my college days and there have been deaths from Hazing usually too much alcohol or something else..But I have to scratch my head in bewilderment on this one...Is this a black thing to beat the living shit out of someone or in this case to death like a gang initiation for a college rite of passage? If you can believe it BAND of all things not even a physical sport like football ( not that it is acceptable in any sport). Personally I think they need to throw the book at this group and make them do serious jail time to send a message to others..

Maybe there is no outrage from them because people are actually being charged and held accountable for what happened? What would the outrage be about?

You think only sports involve hazing? Any close group whether that involves bands, sports, frats, sororities, and even some jobs often times involves a little hazing.

Yes you are right I have been "hazed" starting new jobs. My point is this goes far beyond hazing. Most all times hazing is harmless or intended to be. What I am saying is this if you are beating down someone to the point that their soft tissues of the body are hemorrhaging this is disturbing .

Having gone to a college with a large and famous marching band, I can surely believe it.

I was in marching band all through high school, and loved it. Decided I didn't want to do it in college, and I don't regret that decision one bit (not solely due to hazing, though).
I'm watching Jeopardy. The category is worst Madonna songs. "This one from 1987 is terrible".
