2012 Eurovision Thread

Mon May 14, 2012 4:20 am

I'm surprised there hasn't been a topic of this year's Eurovision Song Contest in Baku. I always like reading people's take on who's good and who's bad even if it's all political.

This yeah I really don't know who I like. I do know I don't like the Austrian song this year, while Sweden, Belgium, and France as growing on me.

Douze points for your thoughts?

I've been into eurovision a little too much in the last couple of years - websites, fora, semis etc. - but think I might just leave it all for the final this year so it's all more of a surprise.

Over-thinking eurovision just doesn't seem the most enjoyable way to do it - at least from outside the eurozone! That said, with Julia Zemiro and Sam Pang doing the Aussie commentary for the 3rds year now, I'm hoping they're on top of the their game.

I usually don't like seeing the one country winning twice in a row but this year the song that sticks out for me the most is Azerbaijan's entry "When The Music Dies" by Sabina Babayeva she has an amazing voice. Other entries I like are Estonia, Germany and Serbia. But by next week maybe a few other song will grow on me. But overall I don't think the lineup is as good as Dusseldorf last year.

Im putting all my hopes this year in Sweden. Although my roots are Spanish and I always have hopes that Spain will make a top ten I think we actually have a chance this year. Pastora can show her strong voice on scene and I can almost be sure she will make it good. Swedish song is just catchy and very commercial so I can see it as this year winner. As for other songs...Serbia and Italy will be good too.

Cheers
