Was Cummins Working On A Small V8?

Thu May 31, 2012 11:14 pm

I know that Cummins still build the V-903 for military vehicles, but I remember reading, that Nissan new Titan based Full size van, ( believe it's called the NV 3500) was supposed to have a small Cummins V8, as a diesel option for the large van.
Seeing that the Ford Powerstroke V8 is really an IC 444, and the fact that IC also build a medium duty I-6, ( the DT-466, can not fit in a pick up truck) I would think it would be great, if Cummins built the small V-8 for the van, and keep suppling the ISB for the Dodge RAM.
The Cummins V8, was supposed to be smaller than the ISB, so have anybody heard anything about this engine?

PS: I am happily when i am assign an IC 3900 for a run, because I know I will have a DT-466 at my foot tips.
