Over The Counter Med Question

Tue Jun 19, 2012 11:41 am

Howdy ya'll... I've a large quantity of aspirin (1 large bottle and 3 smaller ones). Combined all of them into the large bottle.
During the process I tossed the desiccant packs out. Now, the pills are glued to each other and there's a funky smell.

I've been taking those on a daily basis though.

Here's the question : are those pills spoiled? Should I throw all of 'em out?

Thanks.

What material are the pills made of? Sometimes caplets get sticky due to heat or humidity. However, I would advice you to not mix medications like that. Each medicine might have a different expiration date or set of instructions.

I'll go out on a limb and say that the smell should tip you off to toss them.

I'll agree with einsteinboricua that sometimes capsules will stick together in more humid conditions, but a 'funky' odor probably indicates that the medicine is reacting to something.
