LAX Lager? IND India Pale Ale?

Tue Jun 19, 2012 7:34 pm

Beer maker Anheuser-Busch has filed an application to trademark the codes of 42 U.S. airports for possible use in beer brand names. It already has done so for a number of telephone area codes and markets a beer known as 312 Urban Wheat Ale after Chicago's area code. Federal law allows private businesses to trademark airport codes for commercial purposes.

Clever... i'm willing to bet they'll put the exact same beer in all the bottles and just change the labels. I'll stick with my local brews.... for what it's worth, the best beer+airport combo I've seen is New Belgium's pub at DEN. Great company, great beer.
