Your Favorite Bagel Flavor(s)?

Fri Jun 22, 2012 3:17 pm

Title says it all.

Mine are Cinnamon Raisin, Blueberry and Banana Nut (when I can find them) all toasted. I'll even go with my favorite bagel sandwich, Onion bagel, lox and chive cream chesse.

I'm going purely off my neighborhood bagel shop: Einsteins. I have a soft spot for the Everything bagel, but I also like the cranberry and sesame bagels.

Cinnamon/Raisin and Sesame are my favourites toasted with butter of course and maybe a little rasberry or blackberry jam.

Hi!

I think I'm the same as Mir above, plain, sesame or poppy. I quite like onion too sometimes.

What's good for me is a toasted plain bagel split with scrambled eggs and smoked salmon on top. Very nice.

Many thanks,

Pierre

My local bagel shop makes a gazillion f flavors everyday, but I usually go with a plain ole everything or a jalapeno bagel topped with scallion or lox spreads.

For me it goes Egg, Cinnamon Rasin, and then Onion. Crap now I'm craving one from the bagel shop!

I have several favorites, it depends on my mood. Sometimes I'm in a blueberry-y mood, other times I'm in a onion-y or sundried tomato-y mood. Cimmanom is also good, though it's usually got raisins in it, which I'm not crazy about.

Quite a few years ago, Lender's made a garlic flavored bagel, which - even though Lenders is an emulsified, preservative-laden supermarket bagel, was quite tasty. One afternoon I ate one after school and then fell asleep on the couch.

The taste...in my mouth...when I woke up... was....

I would be your direct opposite! I'm a bagel purist and eschew any tooty fruity/desert variety. I roll with literally anything else especially if the bagels are hot and fresh. Being Jewish and a Baltimorean I'm blessed with a decent selection of very high quality bagel places. And, New York is the bagel heaven hub of the world. Enjoy!

Jalapeno, which is ironic in that I now live in the bagel capital of the world and can't find a place that actually sells Jalapeno bagels. Nor can I find a place that sells jalapeno cream cheese. The deli down the street from me in Washington sold jalapeno cream cheese, but I can't find a place in NYC that offers it. Instead they offer every berry in a cream cheese or bagel. Bagels aren't supposed to be sweet, they should be savory!

Give me a good old EVERYTHING bagel. Goes great with cream cheese or butter & cheese (Jarlsberg is my preference) for breakfast, or it goes just as well with cold cuts to make a sandwich for lunch or dinner. YUMMY!

Cinnamon Crunch from Panera Bread. It tastes more like a dougnut than a begel, though.

Yeah, these are really, really good but not sure they're actually bagels. It's abut the only bagel I ever get at Panera but it's stretching the definition. I used to love the onion bagels we used to get when I was back in Skokie, IL. Lots of great delis and bagel shops back there, as the town has a large Jewish population.
