F1 "Prof" Sid Watkins Dies

Sat Sep 15, 2012 11:17 am

Sad news. Long time Formula 1 race doctor Sid Watkins died at 84. He made so many safety improvements that if it wasn't for him F1 would probably still have at least a death a season. RIP.

Many F1 fans consider Senna, Clark, Stewart, Fangio, Schumacher et al as heros. Professor Watkins was a true hero and I will be happy and proud to raise a glass of fine Scotch in his honour.
If your camera sends text messages, that could explain why your photos are rubbish!

Absolutely.

The news was posted around many of the different F1 Facebook groups. This is how I learned of his departure.

RIP Prof. Sid Watkins.
