‘Contact,’ 15 Years On

Thu Sep 20, 2012 12:36 am

It's hard to believe that it's been 15 years since the great movie 'Contact' written by Carl Sagan and starring Jodie Foster and Matthew McConaughey was released.

It's one of my favs of all time!

I loved the twists in the plot and the interesting visuals for the time, including a brief shot of Jodie topless!

Here's a recent interview with a woman who was in part the role model for Jodie's character:

‘Contact,’ 15 Years On
Inspiration, move me brightly! Light the song with sense and color.
Hold away despair, more than this I will not ask.
Faced with mysteries dark and vast, statements just seem vain at last.
Some rise, some fall, some climb, to get to Terrapin!

I saw it in a philosophy class in High School. It was decent.

Did the teacher play the part with Jodie topless in slow motion like I did?

Philosophy and boobies in the same class, gotta love it!

Jodie's in the same category as Mrs. Windsor/Cornwall/whatever, sufficient but not ample...

Haha I don't remember but knowing that teacher I wouldn't be surprised if he did!
