Shocking, but not altogether surprising. I've been on the receiving end of Serb racism myself. Of course, I'm not saying that everyone in Serbia is racist, or that it is a bad country or anything like that, but that perhaps they do have an issue with very overt and public displays of racism.
Not surprising at all. In Australia, when I was a kid, the Serbs and Croats, having crossed the world to start a better life, would burn down each others boys' soccer clubs, vandalise each other's churches and beat up each other a under 8's soccer games in otherwise quiet and affluent Australian suburbia. An Austrian friend who goes to Croatia often has been to towns where a weekend night out often involves Serb guys 'glassing' someone in the face for being in the wrong bar at the wrong time.
Say what you want: it's certainly not a 'racial' problem nor all Serbs, nor only Serbs, but let's admit that there's some major undigested angst in that culture to be dealt with.
When all's said and done, there'll be more said than done.
