Dumb Ways To Die (Safety Video)

Sun Nov 25, 2012 1:51 pm

For the few of you that haven't seen the latest viral video on rail safety:
The plural of Airbus is Airbuses. Airbii is not a word.
There is no 787-800, nor 787-900 or 747-800. It's 787-8, 787-9, and 747-8.
A321neoLR is also unnecessary. It's simply A321LR.
Airplanes don't have isles, they have aisles.

My friend from Melbourne sent this to me the other day. I loved it, particularly the "sell your kidneys on the internet" dance.

I love this video! I think the Piranha bate bit made me laugh the most! What a great way to get an important message to people! The song has been stuck in my head all day :')

Buddy sent it to me the other day. It's so crazy! But it does get people's attention.

Remember that Australian railways poster-maker meme thing? That also got people's attention.

I saw it a few days ago when looking through the trending videos.

It's a fantastic, extremely funny video that has caught the attention of over 25 million people in just 1 week!

My favourite parts are either the clothes dryer, wasps nest or dressing up like a moose

Some background behind the video

I take the train to work most days, and there is a serious side to the vid. Only yesterday I was on a tram on my lunch break when someone cut in front of the tram - the tram had to brake suddenly & anyone who was standing (myself included) was thrown to the otherside of the tram. Luckily there were no injuries other than people being shaken up, but could have been a lot worse.

I believe in coincidences. Coincidences happen every day. But I don't trust coincidences.

How about several weeks ago, at the Bumble Bee Tuna processing plant in California, a worker managed to get trapped in the big Steam Machine and was cooked to death. This monster thing looks like a big tank where pallats of canned tuna are steamed to destroy any germs and tuna funk odor. Apparently, the hatch closed and the thing started steaming away and he was found the next day. The company said the steamed cans though were good to go and were shipped to a grocer near you.
