After having a few days of all-time record breaking warm weather for January, the cold is back in Indiana; and the people driving the trucks and cars on the Interstates are STILL trying to drive on the vehicle in front's back bumper; here are some pretty good pictures of the inevitable results from following too close. The pile-up was so massive, and so "spread out" that the para-medics were having a very difficult time reaching the injured people; as of a few hours ago, the Indiana State Police reported that they were still uncertain if there were any fatalities, but there have already been more than a dozen injured people transported to hospitals.
This happened near the Indianapolis International Airport; the News has reported that flights have been cancelled as a result of the traffic interfering with passengers getting to and from the airport; (to which I would add; "because they haven't been swift enough to figure out that you really DON"T "need" to get on I-70 to GET to the Airport").
The worst part of all of this is, the weather is really not all that bad; temps are about 20 deg. (F), rather "breezy", maybe half an inch of snow has fallen in the last 10 or 12 hours.......in other words, just another typical January 31 day in Indiana; (with ALL of the typical ignorant drivers who think they are in such a rush that they MUST drive on the car in front's bumper) Some times when I'm driving in heavy traffic, I can't help but wonder......."do all of these people really HAVE a destination" ? "Or are they just out, driving around, texting each other on their cell phones, and possibly trying to "decide" where they really want to go" ? (It sure does look like it some times.)
They'll never learn, will they ?
