This happened just down the street from where I work. A student first shot two others wounding them and when a teacher intervened, he shot and killed the teacher. He then turned the gun on himself, taking his life. My wife is a first grade teacher at another school down the street and initially some of the students were taken there before being taken to a local high school. Quite disturbing to have happen so close to home.

Here we go again. Apparently there is a press conference about to start. Let's see if the confirm the shooter was a 14 year old student, what triggered it and how he got the weapon.

Who ever owened the gun and make it easily accessible to a child should be charged with something. Manslaughter? Something.

As for the kid, early reports say it had to do with bullying. I am confident some type of mental health issue will appear as it almost always does.

Sadly, I don't think anything will come out of this. My views are pretty well known so I won't rehash them again. It just kills me when I hear of something like this happening because a parent fails to store the weapon properly or something else easily preventable
Ironically I have never flown a Delta MD-90 :)

If only the other kids and teachers were all armed, this would have never happened.

Not the only major shooting incident in Nevada today (which is referenced in the bottom of the linked article):

Police: Argument over cover charge prompts fatal shooting at Strip nightclub

One dead, two wounded in an incident at Bally's after a patron who paid the cover charge for the after hours club there (Drai's) demanded a refund because he felt the club wasn't "busy enough". This comes of the heels of another shooting incident on the Strip back in February right next to Bally's (and incident that started further down the Strip in a club at Aria).

Two more senseless acts of violence involving guns.

Bullying is a mental health issue.

Well, almost by definition. Mentally healthy kids don't typically shoot up schools.
