Hundreds Of North Dakota Oil Spills Not Publicized

I must say I am not surprised about the obvious attempt to not call attention to this environmental problem. Obviously pipelines do leak, and they do not care where they leak. They leak, and people live with the aftermath. Couple that with the laws passed so they do not have to be reported, and you have an industry once again given special permission to hide the environmental damage. Of course we know that the Keystone Pipeline is different. Dig, drill, pump, and frack no problem. Sure!

Maybe that is stretching the truth. One must remember the gift that keeps on giving for them even after death. Wealth accumulated, and their over generous pensions for a job not well done.

It boggles the mind that people living near these pipelines could have oil seeping onto their property, causing damage, and nobody tells them about it because they're not required to. That's what happens when the foxes guard the henhouse. I get that they don't want to alarm people every time there's a minor leak that never leaves the well site, but as soon as it leaves the well site it needs to get reported to those in the area.

Welcome to the joys of living in oil country. Luckily the oil is far enough away that I don't deal with it on a daily basis.

That the spills are happening doesn't even remotely surprise me. Take a look at the annual reports of a major oil company and you will see that spills are a near daily occurrence. Most are small, but they happen all the time. What surprises me is that there was no system to alert nearby residents. Seems important to let a farmer know about potential groundwater contamination.
It is a mistake to think you can solve any major problems with just potatoes.

The name of the game is deception, nothing else. This is all enabled by the government there and elsewhere. They write the laws to avoid the knowledge of the spills becoming too wide spread. If one is not informed, one cannot tell others what is happening, and how common these pollution causing spills are.
