John Conyers retires endorses son for his seat

Tue Dec 05, 2017 9:39 pm

Well this 88 year old turd finally decides to retire from his hospital bed no less then has the balls to say he wants his legacy to continue so he endorses his son John Conyers III to fill his vacant seat. What a POS. Again 88 years old? There should be mandatory retirement and actually term limits for all members of congress. This dynasty politics crap has to end.

Well Utah possibly has Sen Hatch running for re-election at 84 and California's Dianne Feinstein will be 85 when she runs for re-election, Vermont's Bernie Saunders 77.

The youngest seeking re-election to the Senate is Connecticut's Chris Murphy at 45.

With Conyers out the oldest Congressman running for re-election is Don Young of Alaska who will 85, and was first elected in Nov 1972. That's currently 45 years in office.

There is no doubt that Conyers, III will be chosen to replace his father now and in the next election.
I have long believed that as with Judges in many USA states, there should be an age limit for Federal officials including President, Senators, Congress members and all Judges at about 75. No one should be a half dead, possibly senile person doing a critical job. There should also be mandated resignations or removal from office if commit a serious crime or harassed women or staff.

Yet another in a long list of examples of the case for term limits

Interestingly, conservatives never agree on age. Conyers, at age 88 is too old, but Thurmond at age 100 in the Senate was quite acceptable. Hillary Clinton at age 69 was too old to run for office (no stamina, as they called it), but Trump at age 70 was quite healthy, the healthiest individual to ever run for office (remember that?).
