Tilt your head to the left and knock you head on the left side with the palm of your hand. Works for me. You might even jump up and down while doing it. :banghead:

Had to pass 5 days in Paris for business with an ear clogged with water. The flight was horrible. Had an astonishing headache. Jumped pumped with the palm tilted the head nothing happened. Had to pass the last night at the ER because it was driving me insane.
May my post not hurt your feelings

I can't help but envision Kramer doing that in the final episode of Seinfeld. They're in the private jet, he's jumping up and down to un-plug the water in his ears and the plane goes out of control

We just had tubes put in both of my kids ears to help with draining the fluid behind their ear drums. The procedure is so remarkably fast. It was like an aircraft production line at the surgery center this morning. There were maybe 15-20 kids (and this was all between 6am and 8am) who came in, a couple every 15 minutes it seemed to check in. We were one of the first. Interacted with probably 5 nurses and 5 doctors. Everything from checking in to getting Iv's to put to sleep then they put in a breathing tube, did the ear surgery (also removed adenoids) and in recovery. We were there maybe 2 hours in and out. (and that was for two kids, 1 & 3)

I had a tube put in my right ear earlier this year because the eustachian tube became atrophic due to the radiation treatments I had. I am currently suffering through my first sinitus infection (I assume), since the install, and while I don’t feel any pressure, there is continual clear fluid drainage from my right ear (gross). Not sure which I dislike more...the pressure or the drainage. But, the ear feels like it’s continually water-logged.

And, before all you internet doctors get all worked up, I have had no recent head injury, so the probability that this drainage is CSF approaches zero. But, by happy coincidence, I had a regularly scheduled CT and MRI this week.
When seconds count...the authorities are minutes away.
Unless it's expressly prohibited, it's allowed.

An ENT doctor told me that if you are getting on a flight, take a sudafed 30 minutes before and every 4-6 hours afterwards until landed.
It will help keep you from having damage done if the fluid is backed up .

As for the rest, use a ear wax cleaner, or olive oil/vinegar mix to keep the ear clean.
Older than I just was ,and younger than I will soo be.

Fill the ear with hydrogen peroxide for one minute. Wait ten minutes. Use a squirt gun to direct a stream of warm water into the ear to remove the wax.

See, my doc told me that the correct way to remove a seriously buildup of ear wax is to put in 5-10 drops of Debrox three times a day, every day for 3-5 days depending on how seriously the buildup is, and then use the squirty-bulby-type thingy ONLY after those 3-5 days are up. Said you have to leave the Debrox in there the whole time so it can adequately soften all the wax.

There actually haven’t been well-done studies on the best way so I also agree with his advice.

First, hop a warp-powered transport to Ceti Alpha V. The weather's a little harsh, so dress appropriately. With a little searching, you'll find a Ceti eel. It's easy to find and, chances are, you won't need a field guide to identify it since it's the only indigenous life form on the planet. Place one in your left ear, drop a little acid, and turn on some Pink Floyd. The eel will cure your water-in-the-ear and take your mind of things for a while.

It happens. I recommend "MIRA-LAX" (polyethylene glycol) 17g mixed in liquid once daily. Rarely fails. Course of therapy may be 6-12 months.

I go to an ear nose and throat specialist who uses and air gun to remove the wax buildup, she says it’s the only safe way of doing it without damaging the eardrum. Before using this lady I’d go to my usual doc and they would do what you suggest, the air gun method works a lot better and it’s quicker.

Only if the wax is dry. And do you have an air gun at home? Know where to get one?

Water is quite safe unless you have a ruptured tympanic membrane.

No air gun at home, I go to the doctors to get the ear cleaned out. I have tinnitus in my left ear, if it’s not cleared properly and gently it drives me nuts for a few days afterwards.

It’s gotten worse since i had a Bells palsey a few years back.

There are two types of earwax... wet and dry. Genetics dictate the type each person has. You can Google the differences. The people with dry earwax have the most problems.
