The part that everyone keeps overlooking is the fact that the deal was still in place when Amazon pulled out; they told New York, “Nah, after thinking it over, $3B in tax credits isn’t worth putting up with your shit,” and went on their way.
When you have a company willing to turn away $3B in tax credits to avoid expanding in your city, that’s REALLY saying something about the business climate there.

I support Amazon pulling out. Who needs to get hostile crap from someone like AOC? They came in good faith. For a party that is hell bent on polls the polls were very much in favor of having Amazon build GQ2 there even with the tax breaks. Amazon's action should be a wake up call to this fringe occupy wall street faction. It's bad for business. She can take a victory lap now but I have a feeling this will hurt her in the future.

AOC is representing her constituency quite well.
Destroyed 25,000 jobs and $26B in tax revenue, not bad for a start for a Socialist.
Evident that she wants to keep her constituency as an under class and dependent on government resources.
You would normally think Cuomo and de Blasio would carry enough political clout here to shut down AOC.
I would have thought the blow back would have been on going and horrendous. Not really much after the first announcement from Cuomo and very little from de Blasio.
Looking like they are all in on the Socialism front as well.

I personally wish that custom discounts and breaks would be illegal. I say make your tax and fee and property policy and live with it. And if it is harmful to business, to attracting new business, then freekin' change it. Don't make exceptions, every business of a municipality should have the same benefit and policy applied.
Stop allowing businesses to play one region against another. Make policy, attract business or not, manage your region.
