Is there a way to delete private messages?
I guess I am not looking in the right spot. I went into my PM folder and see there are messages there from years ago. I don't know why I would need them. I looked for a "delete" button but all I saw was a "select all" button. Am I on the right track?

Go to your profile page, and select the Private Messages tab:
Check the messages you wish to delete. At the bottom of the page, you should see these items. The item in the middle row should show "Mark/Unmark as important" If you click on it, it shows the menu choice "Delete marked". That should let you delete messages:
